摘要

Hemifacial spasms (HFS) are involuntary contractions of the facial muscles and affect approximately ten per 100,000 persons. Our case describes a 43-year-old woman with HFS and simultaneous, ipsilateral auditory symptoms and otalgia. Under local anaesthetic, the stapes tendon was cut with a laser. Immediately after, the patient reported loss of auditory symptoms and ear pain. These symptoms were still absent at two- and 12-week follow-ups. Our case highlights a possible treatment for patients with similar symptoms that, to our knowledge, has not been described before.
