摘要

Carbon fiber‐reinforced epoxy composites are used in a variety of structural applications, including aerospace, sports goods, wind turbine blades, automobiles, etc. The addition of nanofillers at the interface of carbon fiber or within the epoxy itself significantly affects the properties of these composites. Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) techniques have proven extremely effective in depositing different kinds of nanofillers. This review focuses on various nanoparticles and the corresponding process parameters for deposition onto carbon fiber. It also explores characterization techniques for EPD‐deposited carbon fiber surfaces to analyze the effectiveness of chemical bonding and mechanical interlocking. Additionally, the review examines the properties of composites including mechanical, electrical, thermal, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The morphology of deposited material, which can be categorized as cover/wrap, partially cover/wrap, and vertical/transverse, significantly impacts the properties of the composites. Graphene oxide (GO), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and MXenes are the major nanofillers used for deposition onto carbon fibers using EPD. Moreover, conductive nanofillers notably enhance the electrical and EMI properties of the composites.
