摘要

The authors of the study cover the topic on the basis of a large base of factual material. They have carefully analyzed it and made convincing conclusions supported by facts about the actions of the government and opposition parties. The researchers have clearly identified the directions, forms, and levels of assistance to Ukraine provided by the Czech Republic in accordance with the rule of law, both international and national. They also emphasize the actions of opposition parties seeking to satisfy their own ambitions in the war against Ukraine launched by the Russian Federation empire, ignoring international humanitarian law. Their actions bear signs of post-totalitarianism, post-communist trauma, and commitment to the group of evil on the planet, which is formed by totalitarian states. The President, Parliament and Government of the Czech Republic defend the principles of democracy and the rule of law, and the inviolability of recognized borders in the twenty-first century. They are against annexations and armed invasions of sovereign states. All their purposeful work is subordinated to peace in the world, interstate cooperation, the common victory of democracy over totalitarianism and manifestations of neo-fascism, further development of human civilization on the path to a common victory, democracy, the rule of law over evil and obscurantism of dictatorship. This cannot be said about members of opposition parties and their actions in the national and European parliaments. Their position on satisfying the aggressor’s demands is extremely dangerous. The current conditions resemble the atmosphere on the eve of World War II. The comprehensive analysis of the topic covers the timeframe from February 2022 to the first months of 2025, practically the period of the three-year war. It is based on national and international law, materials from the current archives of the government, line ministries, and NGOs. The analytical and synthetic method used by the researchers made it possible to draw convincing and well-founded conclusions, to highlight the actions of various branches of government, regions, and the opposition, and to focus on the inhumane position of some parties and their members. Based on an analysis of the processes of Czech aid to Ukraine and its citizens, the tensions between the coalition and the opposition, and individual deputies that arose, the authors draw parallels with the situations that existed at the end of the First Czechoslovak Republic.
